Blend of Vintage and Modern
Tools are tools
Over my many years of recording, mixing and creating audio recordings and gear I’ve always had the philosophy that a tool is a tool. There are vintage gems of audio technology and there are many new designs that stand up well or out perform some vintage gear. I blend both modern digital and analog with vintage gear. These tools all have their place in modern music production. To not use a tool because its either too modern or tool “old” is simply not an option. It would be limiting for technology and more importantly, creativity. Use what works and sounds right. So I don’t rule out fully ITB, OTB or a combination of DAW/plugin and physical hardware either vintage or modern. What’s most important is the sound and creation of music. Players and ideas captured by tools that chronicle the musical experience.
